I suppose there are a number of items which fall into the category of, "Cool and scary" like a skateboard - or for me, a motorcycle. Well, Brian wiped out on his skateoard and broke his leg! He had just started and I was inside the house and heard reallly an unearthly scream then crying..more soon.

That's terrible, Lis! Is he in a cast now? What bone was broken?

Oh no! Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that! Poor lil' guy! I'll bet that was REALLY painful!!! (Although, because he's still young, I'm sure he'll recover very fast and even forget that he broke it in the first place!)

What area of the leg did he break? Will he be getting one of those removeable casts or a regular plaster cast?

Actually, motorcycles (and skateboards) so fall into the category of "cool and scary," and believe me, I've was scared outta my wits when I fell off my first motorcycle--a 650 Suzuki Savage "thumper"--and ended up breaking my ankle and injuring the cartilage on my knee on the same leg. Unfortunately, once one gets past the age of 35, breaking or injuring body parts becomes more of an ordeal with regards towards recovery. (And, by then, I was already on the wrong side of 40!)

I guess I'm a bit of a "klutz" sometimes--which is probably NOT a good combination when riding motorcycles. (And, if you wanna hear another example of "klutziness," just ask Nancy about the time I decided to try out her Pogo stick for the first time, after drinking one of Ray's mai tais...)

I hope Brian makes a speedy recovery and doesn't get tramatized by the event too much (like I did with the Pogo stick, that is).
