Hi there... I haven't been great about keeping this up the past few weeks; now that we are on the downslide towards year end I hope to remember to visit this at least every 2 days??

Broken legs, car accidents and lawsuits (finally!) notwithstanding, (I will let you in on something; I wanted to mention those things and use that word - but then my plan ran out of steam)...LOL.

What can I say??? Ron picked a beautiful Christmas tree and these photos show my be all and end all of life. Perhaps I am mushy now, but I feel like saying how much I adore and love them.

This a.m. Ron and Brian set off for Brian's first day back. They were hit by another car and besides minor injuries, being scared (they went spinning after heing hit initially) and totalling out Ron's car (!) they are "OK" - in this scenario that must mean "seemingly in one piece"!! They went on to school where Brian was well taken care of and brought to the car by the TA in his classroom - she is perfect! Above is his recent school portrait..

Suddenly I have been noticing juices with pomegranite added - and today, a friend & I HAD to buy 7Up with same although we both agreed to no love lost on 7Up...and, yes, it is NICE. I love that fruit but of course am frustrated with the work involved. So I am saying to try it and be pleasantly surprised.

I want to mention as well that a friend, Mike, told me that his son is now interested in "Harold & The Purple Crayon - a series of stories I love! In fact I had 2 rubber stamps made in Thailand (a longer story) one with Harold on a rocket and one with him and a balloon.

Now that I am thinking about those stories, I am wondering if Evan liked/likes them and how aout your kids, Lori?

OK, photo time....an old one where my parents brought us tshirts home from Jamaica..

Perhaps you are thinking, "HEY! No way is this photo worth 1k in words!" Well I am showing this chaise/couch to you for a few reasons...it did save my sanity today and shall, for weeks to come, make my darling son's life more bearable...

All day he and I were fighting with an aggressive LazyBoy who felt it necessary to try to bounce off his leg cast - PAINFUL. It took all the strength I could muster to close it safely so Brian could get out. NEEDLESS to say I was desperate and it was nearing 4 when I remembered a (now old) piece of furniture that my sister (hopefully still) had and called her at work....YES she did have it, yes I could borrow it and she even brought it to my house and carried it inside YAY. (I do love her all the time but these times more so!)

Brian fits perfectly on this piece and can easily get on and off, as a by product I hope it increases his confidence...

So I am aware that at least 2 people who visit my blog (THANKS) are quite the artists, so I feel a bit self concious. However, they are also very kind and wouldn't say, "Myyyyy - didja learn to draw from the back of a matchbook??!" :)

This picture, done in the wee hours (!) is markers on canvas. It was fun and not done! LOL

I will try to be more amusing - and write more as well...

Oops - my reason for posting the dog photo taken by my cell phone was to say that I am going to try to post many cell phone pix and remember, a picture is worth 1,000 words! LOL. Here are a few to start with...

As you may be able to tell, here are 3 rather huge Great Danes leashed to a tree outside a Starbucks near Brian's school. I sort of (HAHAHAHAHA) have an obsession about 1) taking photos and, 2) taking photos with my cell phone (this is one)....the fascination of it is - well, hmm. It's portable and I can fake that I am making a phone call (which is ridiculous I must admit) and take a photo instead - no sound or flash. That brings me to another plus, no flash and the phone still sees a good replication of what the human eye is seeing....and at less than 2 mega pixels. AND - hey it sometimes even makes phone calls - let's not get carried away...So, in the case of this pix (that is plural, yes, but rest assured there is never a situation where I take ONE photo - - - ) I blocked some traffic to get this photo and worth it to me it was, Y0da....

Today, Brian goes to the dr.to get his "real" cast! The break is 2-3 inches above the ankle bone. BTW we are not sure what happened but the break is not a clean one, but rather running up and down and will take longer to heal. His permanent cast is lime green...

While he and his dad were in the urgent care the first time, a boy he knows from school was there because he was having seizures....that put it into perspective, even for Brian. The child's mom whom I didn't know, called me the following day to offer what help she could, ie picking up homework etc. :)

Poor Brian, he is a trooper - where did he get that from ROFL?? But that dang full leg cast must weigh about 25 lbs.!!

I suppose there are a number of items which fall into the category of, "Cool and scary" like a skateboard - or for me, a motorcycle. Well, Brian wiped out on his skateoard and broke his leg! He had just started and I was inside the house and heard reallly an unearthly scream then crying..more soon.

How time flies! I meant to write during the week but I guess that didn't work too welll

And as you can see by this not at all good photo the kittens are growing up already! Nanc if you are reading this, come & see them soon.

I realize that we do not get a "white" Christmas here, but WHAT IS UP with the 90+ and almost Thanksgiving?! And tonight, the heat continues unabated, at nearly 11 it is pushing 80.

And to show you that we do do other stuff, here is a backwards image of a Grateful Dead iron on...Ron had an ANCIENT concert t-shirt, so I took a photo of the GD thing (LOL) and printed it and ironed it on a new shirt....it turned out cool even if you're not a fan and I most certainly AM NOT.

However, if you are a 1962 hearse and named Veronica, I am right there! I did have a request and that's all I needed to get out the brag book! Here she is after I washed her recently..

And it's the weekend! When Trixie and Jinx emerged this a.m. I would swear they'd grown 2 sizes (IF a cat wears sizes!) overnight. I guess I could check the fridge to see if there's anything left! LOL
I will try not to go on and on and ON about kittens, but when they are sooo small and cute it is hard not to go a bit bananas. Unless you're a DOG person. I have no access to the hundreds of cat photos (SOMEONE is chewing on my shoe!) on my hard drive so if you are getting annoyed with, "GOOD GRIEF ANOTHER KITTEN PHOTO AND IT LOOKS LIKE ALL THE OTHERS" you are off the hook today! Or should I say this morning...
Great, the pool equipment just turned on and strangely it sounds not like its normal pool self but rather like , and protesting! Hmm, add that to our never ending list...
What is it with lists anyway? I have a sneaking suspicion that in my case, I make them to use up some of the pens and paper which live alongside us here. Seriously, do we make them so that we can cross stuff like "new lightbulb in bathroom" off - ?

I've had a number of responses, suggestions....thanks to all who wrote so far! :) I am not 100% sure but it seems as if to leave a comment (post rather) you have to sign in/up - to Google? Lisa, is that right? BTW I am not talking to myself, but rather Lisa, a friend's brother's wife who is now a friend and takes incredible photos~~~esp. of her guinea pigs....(Lisa I will post photos of Veronica soon!)

So, of course, more photos - the sunset in Malibu I(TAKEN BY RON), where we took dad for his 80th disastrous b'day dinner...cold food, the wrong food, waiting for over an hour!! Yikes. A gorgeous view, but! The next photo is there as well, showing my friend Sheila visiting from England! With my niece Jennifer, and Brian. Next is my nephew's 10th b'day party - Christopher - for those of you around in the 70's, check out the sleeves on Jena's dress that my mom made (!!) remember those? LOL

So they now have names - hers, Trixie (sort of after Speed Racer) and we could not name him: Chim Chim, Spritle, Sparky. Speed - or even Snake Oiler - so he is Jinx...

Me & Ron a few days ago - I like this photo!

A friend of mine mentioned that she'd started her own blog, and at that time. I was considering (still am) doing a vlog as my new laptop has a SUPER EASY webcam with quick uploading to YouTube...then I watched myself on it - at the moment, NO THANK YOU for that...

So, I googled this and here I am...I am going to try it as there are quite a # of people whom I'd love to write to more often, at all, or? and on top of it all, I now have carpal tunnel...

And it's an easy way to share my fav photos, too. If I want to write a personal note, I just will say something like "DEBBY - yay for you on your recent marriage!!" And of course when you write to me, you can email me at silverbackwords@yahoo.com if you'd like more privacy or post here! :)

So there are about 10 of you and please know that I am doing this, although not as personal as a note to you, because I care very much and don't want to "disappear"...DO let me know if you have suggestions, etc.

Our 2 new additions - kittens!

With all that goes on in our lives, and the fact that we already have 4 cats, OF COURSE we had to add to our "nest"!! This first one is a boy, and Brian is holding the girl - we've been arguing about names for a short time now..we can wait and see about their personalities (for a change!) They are a mere 8 weeks old!
